ABOUT
Mexican designer, born and raised in Mexico City where his studio is based. His collectible design approach comes after developing himself for half a decade in Esrawe Studio as a furniture and product designer. Through a sophisticated formal expression and a strong conceptual approach in his projects, he seeks to explore the emotional relationship between the object and the user. Concepts such as balance and counterpoise are crucial in the design of Federico’s pieces as he looks to communicate a poetic and clever playfulness in his work. Attention to detail, versatility and resourcefulness complemented with marvelous execution of local craftsmen are essential aspects in the development of the pieces in his portfolio.

Temis is a re-edited piece sand casted in solid bronze. It is then welded, ground and brushed to highlight the imperfections of the process itself. As a result, each piece is unique and carries its own scars. Its shape reminiscent of bones or antlers brings the piece closer to the natural and organic universe present in most of the designer's pieces.
Origin: The piece is produced in a small family workshop in Ecatepec, Mexico specializing in bronze casting using plaster and silicone molds. They create pieces of all scales and collaborate with sculptors and artists.

Candelera is a collection of large sculptural lighting pieces that combine form and function. It achieves compositional balance through simultaneous calculations of volume, mass, density, and element spacing. Simple geometric processes transform 2D surfaces into complex, double-curved structures, concealing light sources. The volumes that form “Candelera 03” are related in an abstract way to river stones. Organic and natural elements that, like the piece, recall history, change and the passage of time.
Origin: The piece is produced in a family workshop in Cuautitlán that employs 15 people and focuses on metalwork at various scales. They have recently become involved in the production of collectible design objects and furniture within their niche.

The raw and simplistic character of Óseo Mobile, in addition to its apparent state of balance, seeks to relate with the user through their sensibility and emotions. In order to accomplish the balance of the composition, multiple parameters such as volume, mass and density, as well as the distance between the elements, are calculated and projected simultaneously from the shaping of every piece of the system.
Origin: All the wooden pieces are handcrafted with traditional woodworking techniques by a small workshop of a master cabinetmaker in Iztapalapa, Mexico who has been working with wood carving for 50 years.
