Simon J. Frank (1990) is a designer based in Bern, Switzerland. His recent project, the GBSS armchair, represents a two-year exploration into architectural outdoor design, inspired by his fascination with translucent glass bricks and 20th-century architecture. In 2016, Simon and his business partner Marcel Schneider founded Varia Instruments, a brand focusing on professional DJ equipment that is both designed and manufactured in-house at their workshop in Bern.

The craftsmanship of Varia Instruments' equipment is exceptional, earning their inaugural product, the RDM20, a place in the permanent collection at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich.
